Abstract
To ensure a successful technology transfer, it is important that managers of higher education be properly trained in regulating the work in this field. It is their professional competence that ultimately defines the solution of the problems arising as a result of the commercialization of scientific research.
The article describes the methods of the experimental verification of the effectiveness of training higher education executives to regulate activities in the field of technology transfer as part of their continuing education. The methodology of this study requires looking at the interaction of all of the elements of the system of continuing education, the interconnection among external and internal factors of the system and their impact on the training of higher education managers to lead technology transfer initiatives. To evaluate and interpret the experimental results, the author offers an evaluation checklist that includes: components of innovative competence, its characteristics for each element, sources, methods of evaluation and description of the levels of its development. The levels of the innovative competence development are defined on the basis of the patterns of matrix modeling. The experimental evaluation of the program of training higher education executives to regulate the work in the field of technology transfer proved its effectiveness.
